RYDER’S JOURNEY

Ryder - CTFOB-53We were blessed with the arrival of our beautiful boy, Ryder Jack Manulat, on 13th December 2011. At 2 days of age, Ryder was diagnosed with Down syndrome and a Congenital Heart defect and under went a total heart reconstruction at 15 weeks of age. We immediately realised beauty comes in the unexpected.

Ryder was an amazing and joyful soul who shared his love for life with everyone he met. His smile and laughter was infectious and is sadly missed by so many. In Ryder’s short life he taught not only his family, friends  and staff and fellow students at his daycare, that an extra chromosome did not limit him from being a typical child.

Sadly Ryder contracted Meningococcal septicaemia on 11th June 2014, and despite putting up a fight, earned his wings 6 hours later. Ryder has left a hole in the lives of not only his family but his many friends around the globe. Ryder has left a legacy in 2 years that many do not achieve in a life time.

His Foundation is a Not for Profit Foundation which will raise much needed funds for children with Down syndrome up to 5 years of age and their family/carers to assist in purchasing essential equipment.

Our Fundraising will be through minor and major events throughout the year and any generous donations you are able to make. We are in the process of setting up another Website – Stripes4Ryder which will sell items to raise further funds. Ryder was well known for wearing striped clothes and we were humbled on the day he was laid to rest people across the globe wore stripes in his honour.

Thank you for assisting in honouring our Angel and continuing his legacy. We are humbled by the support we continue to receive and for allowing us to heal through T21 Ryder’s Foundation.

(* Down syndrome is also know as Trisomy 21 or abbreviated to T21)
